Well, I can't confess to be any sort of expert on the Peaks, but do have fond memories of the type working on the Midland main line.
And that looks about right to me. I suspect I'll find it hard to resist once I've seen a decorated sample.

Hmm, 'Tis a thought, but for me it would be one of the last 12, all of which I saw on the farewell railtour. Hertfordshire railtours 'Baker's Dozen'. So probably one of the unofficial namers...

You may even see my dad posting on that subject!

I remember it so well! Particularly the drive to London to pick up the train when the car drive shaft almost broke on the way there - but not quite!

Unfortunately we've not found the photos between us. It was an exceptional day out, though.

The model looks good. If that's the EP (apt for a 45) when's the LP due ;)?

Like 45 128, but there's no name on this one at Derby during 1982-84. One of my photographs as are the other 5.

I think I've got the negs, I'll have a look.

I had forgotten your dear VW Santana shaking itself to bits on the way home, but hey it was just the end of a spectacularly eventful day. Do you remember the train engines breaking down on the S&C on the way back?

Steph - it wasn't the "Bakers Dozen". I've just found that on Six Bells Junction - it went from Euston and involved a 31! Ours was from St Pancras.

Check it for yourself - 27th June 1987.

Yeah, okay, funny how the memory plays tricks. Perhaps it was the Thames-Eden' on September 26th 1987? Route looks okay. I know I kept the tickets, if I can find them...

The model was on Facebook the other day and I think it might have been Brian Daniels who said that the nose seam would be incorporated into the productiin models.

Brian, apologies if it wasn't you......

Model looks lovely aside from the seams though.

Cheers.

Sean.

Now, do I get a JLTRT one or wait for Heljan, which I will then have to convert to a Gateshead Class 46 (1977/8) as per Yorkshire Dave's photos with filled in headcode boxes and 2 marker lights (and the footsteps filled in)?
Decisions ... decisions

Do you think I'm made of money mate!

I'm a poor pensioner :(, and anyway, I profess to be part Yorkshire when it comes to money
