I've just finished my RT Sentinel so might look at the D10 as a next step.
I like the arrangement of the barn loading dock in the headshunt. Looks like a good way to complicate operations!

The D10 is a nice kit to build, Well all the High Level ones I have built are nice to build.
Yeah the headshunt with the loading dock does help make thing more interesting, especially if you're using a coach as part of the shunt!
Somehow I've missed all the posts on this superb pair of layouts until now....
Well making up for lost time what a stunning bit of modelling. Very appealing to the eye.
Thanks George.
The photos so some suspension wire system balancing the lifting rigs. Would it be possible to get some more details of how this system works please? Looks ingenious
Basically the end that is attached to the fiddle yard acts as the cantilever point for the unsupported end. The central post has two turnbuckles which allow the unsupported end to be adjusted to get it level and take its weight. It doesn't actually move much, maybe 1cm vertically, which is surprising considering my dodgy woodworking skills!
These a lovely flint wall section on this building. What materials did you use to make this?
The flint is done using air dry clay. I put a small amount of PVA on the surface before adding the clay. While the clay is still wet I press a piece of brass rod into it to add the flint shape. This picture is one of the buildings that is on Tarring Neville
