Upper Croft, a western village terminus in the mid to late 50s and early 60s. I've taken a lot of inspiration and basis from Presteign on the Kington branch. The scenic section is 5ft x 1ft, track is Peco code 75, I've had alot of help and guidance from my dad. (Who is an avid listenser of the Archers, where we got the name from)TSW Layout Plan_002 - Copy (1).jpg
This was the original plan for the layout, where as now there's an extra side and the
road on the other side.

Here's a few recent photos of the new overgrowth and scenics toward the end of the platform

Progress! With a generous 6 weeks off now here a nice amount of progress, touch wood, can be made!

Recently with the help of my dad we have laid some Grout for some goods coverage.

As well as the Grout there's also been some foliage dotted around to help enhance the whole overgrown effect on the layout. Notably in the head shunt and along the siding.

As well as Grout, my dad has also helped with making me some simple hedges for alongside the road. Made frome Rubberised Horse Hair and Woodland Scenics Coarse Turf.

Morning all,

Right, so I'm back. Apologies for my lack of input, I've been meaning to keep you all updated on the layout but I am back and i bear some updates!

So yesterday, I had a bit of time off in-between revision for my upcoming exams, and I thought I'd do some modelling. I decided today I'd solidify the Grout. I first applied some "Wet water", then I used the same glue mix I used to solidify the ballast, a simple 30:70 mix of pva and warm water. Whilst that was setting, my dad kindly offered to teach me a few methods with scenics, to help me when I can do them myself on other areas. This involved some "Green Scenes" Scenics with some of their grass, as well as some Woodland Scenics Shrubbery.

As well as the overgrowth around the goods shed (which I could do with finishing!) being added, I also am lucky enough to have had a tree made by my dad for the layout. Many of you who have seen his stuff know he is very good when it comes to making trees, using the method in Gordon Gravett's book, "Modelling Trees". I know if you look on my dad's page there will be plenty of posts about his trees. Now with the addition of the tree, I think it adds alot more depth into the corner where it stands.
