What Dave said. Lovely stuff, Jonte. All that new stuff aged very quickly - and skilfully. I particularly like the wear and tear of the boards. There’s beauty in dereliction, and artistry in your rendering of it.

I was up with the lark this morning fellow Westerners, although to to tell the truth, I didn’t sleep much worrying about that final test: would the unsupported front span stay upright after all?
Thankfully, yes, although more by luck than design.
The grey board frame rendered a nice snug fit of the roof over the columns; too snug in fact, so fillets of card were inserted to lift the roof slightly and give some leeway, although the slight gap that resulted will be taken up on the real thing. Elsewhere, the grey board frame was running out of true in parts and the 2 x 1s frustratingly didn’t sit flat when not screwed down, but again this wouldn’t be the case when eventually fixed to a proper baseboard, so quite pleased about that. Ignore the protruding columns too: I forgot to cut notches in the back of the grey board frame so they’d sit flush with the fascia. If I had brains I’d be dangerous.
Anyway, you’ll no doubt be relieved to read that apart from some further judicious distressing, especially to the interior, I’m going to call this finished before it becomes a parody; unusual for me, I know, judging by the number of incomplete threads Adrian and his fellow mods have allowed me to get away with, which I sincerely thank them for. I trust their benevolence and saintly patience will continue just a little longer when they discover I’ve gone and flooded the forum with yet more poorly taken shots of my scissors, card and sticky stuff constructed structure, which I rather deludedly refer to as a train shed (or is it trainshed?). But I’ve enjoyed it.

The light effects on the outer rooves would have been better if I hadn’t cocked-up when glueing them on. No second chances with epoxy.....
As for the felt: hurrah for masking tape, I say. I’ve no idea what happened to Mr. Williamson’s slates, but thank goodness I didn’t have to model them. Mind you, judging from the rust on the posts and the reflections at the base, I reckon it leaks like a sieve
