It occurs to me that those who do not use RMWeb may not have seen some of these before. At the moment I am busy on a large number of LSWR signals but these are no ready to show yet.

In the meantime here is one from last year, more photos to follow in due course. This one is a Youtube of an LBSCR signal with rotating Shunt signal.

By all means, I don't know if it's me or is there really less activity on there these days, compared with here and Facebook?

Yes, my impression is that many 'makers' have moved elsewhere. Sadly I think the big server photo loss episode hasn't helped. Used to be a cracking resource for all sorts of stuff but now many of those useful photos have gone.

Anyway, I'm sure there are quite a few on here that would like to see more of your signals, they really are works of art.

The server loss - as much a data management issue as anything, the update that broke all the links before that didn't help - was the final straw for me, certainly. I still dip in, occasionally, but don't post much. Lovely signals, Stephen.

Anyway whilst I wait for the replacement belt for the drill, I decided upon a little experiment to see how many flags I can get to work in a 7mm scale GWR Cash Register type signal. 4 are supplied in the MSE etch, so that is the aim. It will be a tight fit, given that some modification will be needed to the etch to give a prototypical display.

The actual flags are a cut down version of the etches with a piece of Cobex (any clear rigid plastic of suitable thickness will do) as a replacement. The wording is printed on self-adhesive white vinyl, so when the rear light shines it will illuminate it (as per my Avatar photo). I have several designs already printed so changing them is quite easy.

The actual Cash Register body has the rear removed and a piece of opaque white plastic sheet will be attached.

Post is from my own etched brass design (PPD do the actual etches for me), lamps are Modelu. The LEDs are 0603 SMD ones which fit easily inside the bodies.

Much remains to be done however and I will add more photos and video in due course.

The platform is MSE and the weight bar is mine.

I now have 4 working flags, in the I didn't use the MSE flag parts. I have some Nickel Silver shim, cut some strips and folded over so as to give a better grip on the plastic flag The flag end being relieved to form a clip . Two connected up so far, just waiting for some rod for the other two and arm.

I have removed the wire tails and fitted some L shaped strips to form channels for the flags, not sure they are effective but it works anyway.

Servos have arrived, nearly finished but have put the project to one side for a few days whilst I get on with other things.
