Rosehearty - GNSR New Aberdour Branch

The other half of my pair of BRCW Type 2’s has made it off the workbench and into the layout.

D5322 was another regular visitor to GNSR metals so was an obvious choice;

Like twins, even identical twins, there are subtle differences if you look for them.

Then heading back to Fraserburgh.

Hi John, having just come back from Barcelona yesterday morning before the airport closed it is so nice to see a sunny scene (even if artificial) at nearly midnight!
Davy, this layout is always on the "exhibition circuit".....thank you again John for the atmospheric photos.
All the best

I've found some photos lurking in the wrong place in my storage. I don't think they have been seen before, so thought I would share them.

The mid-day service is generally only a single coach. The old R class is normally on the branch goods trains but today has been pressed into service on passenger work and is bringing a Fraserburgh service into Rosehearty.

Some fortuitous shadows give the impression of smoke as the train sits at the platform.

Enough time for the photographer to relocate before the train heads to The Broch.

The light engine down the branch drops off the daily newspapers, so by the time the passengers arrive for the first train to Fraserburgh they have had the chance to catch the headlines. Or perhaps the exploits of Archie Glen and Tommy Lowrie in a three nil win for Aberdeen against Morton.

Whatever they are reading about, they will appreciate a warm carriage and a comfortable seat as they head into town.

Running different periods on the same layout means there will always be compromises and little tell tales.

These passengers are waiting for the next service in the 1949 period, but going by the wagons in the yard, seem to have been there a while!

When I’m operating I try to avoid any obvious time travel clashes like this but these are just two separate scenes with things I’m working on.
