Interesting to note "Tangmere" has overhead warning flashes attached, Maybe they were fitted upside down, given the extensive SR outer third rail electrification!
"Hurricane" and "Shaftesbury" both seen here at Templecombe, have no such appendages.

A Standard class 4 mogul entering Stalbridge on a up train. I believe this service left Bournemouth West around 1.10pm, arriving at Stalbridge around 2.20pm (I have not checked the timetable)
The Signalman is "Jock" Mc Kinney, and the tablet can be seen in the Whitaker apperatus, ready to be exchanged.
Almost nothing now remains of this scene, all the elm trees have gone, replaced with housing estates.
