That is a stunning build, Chris. It's easy to forget the amount of thought needed to produce a wonky building ( some of us can do it naturally ! ) when the natural desire is to build something square.

I'm looking forward to seeing this in situ at SWAG in April.

Cheers chap, there's proving to be almost as much work in the surrounding scene as the building itself! Progressing nicely though and not a million miles off being primed and painted up.

Received some really sad news yesterday. Grahame Hitchen (BGman on the other channel) passed away after a heart attack and two strokes. I heard that he'd had and survived the heart attack and things were starting to look up. Unfortunately 2 strokes followed and a great modeller and general lovely bloke has been taken too soon. His humour and kindness will be sorely missed.

My thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

RIP GBloke.

Prompted by a few folk reading through the thread and liking various old posts, I had a look through where they were up to. 2020 was the answer, which started me reading old posts. I was enjoying the banter and exchanges and particularly the support from members such as Grahame Kitchen. Sadly I got to Jan 21 and my post above. Can't believe he passed 5 years ago. Lovely bloke, funny, helpful and generous with his time - still missed.

Grahame was indeed a lovely bloke. I am lucky to have two mementos, I purchased a van that he had built, but more personally, the breakdown train at the top of this thread bears transfers that he made for me.

(For anyone else with the same dilemma, the G W transfers I could get didn’t fit - I drew new letters on TurboCAD, spray painted some transfer film yellow, and posted it to him and he cut it on his Silhouette and posted me some letters - he’d have appreciated the word-play)

Yes, I acquired two wagons from his estate. One a private owner open and the other a brakevan with GW on the side. I was told it stood for Grahame Wagon, so that's ok.

Well over 30 years since I was in the real pub, long before it was closed, empty for I think some years then burnt down.
I do remember seeing a coin rolling 'up' the chair rail and a bottle rolling 'up' the table.
