In the gloom underneath the woteveritis, I can convince myself there are two triangular shelf brackets.

They might not really exist, and they could be the fire iron brackets, but I think they're triangular shelf brackets.

That’s certainly what I see too.

Any chance these are sliding panels, with the left side in front and the right side behind? I'm going strictly off the shadow lines and appearance of extra depth on the right side.

My first thought was that the two objects were a pair axes, which would fit with some guesses but defy logic in many other ways.
