Good evening, my name is Craig, I have lurked about on here for a bit, and loitered a lot on t'other side, I did start another thread about bog carts on the WR, but after having some building work done recently in the house for the sake of peace and harmony to keep my Domestic Chief Engineer happy I put my boxes of "bloody train stuff" away for a bit, but this 22 kit was to tempting to pack away, so it was kept to one side to give me something to tinker with in between working during the "tourist" season and decorating chores.
Updates will be a bit sporadic as I really don't have the time to put up step by step descriptions, but I will update when I can, and this will include the pitfalls that I will come across, the ugly bits are always helpful for others who may decide to tackle the same kit.
I have had the kit for sometime after buying it off a fellow modeller, so the choice of loco to model was restricted with what I had bought, I also purchased 2 x great booklets from the Class 22 Project society, and after a perusal of the booklets and loco dates my chosen subject for this model is 6356, it will be modelled in BR Blue with full yellow ends, it will be approaching the end of it's working life, so it has lost it's D prefix, and the BR arrows of indecision are now above the numbers on each corner, this picture out of the 2nd booklet shows the loco running through Oxford in March 1970, the loco is in superb conditon, suggesting that it may have recently been in for a major exam or overhaul, sadly though 6356 was one of the latter of the class to be withdrawn she was taken out of service in Oct 71, and cut up Jan 72 ...

The drive for this model will be an ABC Gearbox driven by a Maxon motor, I got 2 of these of Mr Coles, so another 22 will be purchased in the future, that will be one of the 6 first built locos.

After having a little clean up and study of the bits I had a dry run just putting the body and cab parts together to get a feel for this kit, and see if there was anything untoward with any of the main parts, as JLTRT offer a replacement service of any broken or poor quality bits.

Any hints, pointers, comparison builds or criticism is gratefully welcomed
Craig.
