Prototype Action at Dusseldorf Hbf and Derendorf Yard.

I wondered if these three b&w pictures of DB in the late seventies may be of interest. They were taken by my late friend Artur Simons. The hard copies were supplied in the size shown and my skill set does not extend to enlarging them, but I have more should their be sufficient interest. They are all of this size but should scan well enough to provide some ideas of the overall scene in the area in those days now long gone.

The first picture shows Br110 428-0 at Dusseldorf Hbf. The loco appears to be in the original dark blue used by the DB for its passenger locos.

The second and third pictures show Br 261 211-7 shunting a van into the customs warehouse at Derendorf Yard.

If this size of picture is of use to those who (like me) are interested in the DB, (its forbears and successors too), please advise and I will put some more pictures on this thread.

Thank you,

Roger

Another two sets of pictures from Artur Simons taken in the late seventies. They feature the unique liveried (at the time) S-Bahn service and some locos . I also have twelve general photographs of the extensive goods yards, mostly taken from road over-bridges and the prints are of the same size as these shown below. Please contact me by PM if they may be of interest to you.
