Longbeck on the Middlesbrough to Saltburn line, a 1932 LNER type 12 box
Name rendered as two separate words on the old name boards as Long Beck.
Photos I took for reference when I was designing the Dexter's Cove kit.
Note the modernisations accumulated over the years. Bricked up holes for point rodding, galvanised stairs and modern UPVC double glazing.
Two old railway cottages on the other side of the crossing, they date back to the extension of the line from Redcar to Saltburn in 1861 and were built by the Stockton & Darlington Railway. Maybe worth a gallery of their own, they still retain some original features.
